Importance of tyre safety in Mining
Warning! This animation will expose the importance of tyre safety, especially in mining.
Proper tyre care and maintenance is important for mine safety.
Animation allows us to ‘zoom in’ to the molecular level inside a tyre, and understand what happens to tyre compounds that haven’t been taken care of, and the consequences.
Not only does Mining Skills Australia animates and uses our digital technologies to assist equipment, in mining, Mining Skills Australia we can also use our services to demonstrate across a wide range of industries. No job is too small for our animation wizards to handle.

Our Animation team at Anglo American’s Moranbah North Mine Site
The Mining Skills Australia‘s Animation team visited Anglo American’s Moranbah North mine site to get reference images, videos and documentation for an upcoming project.
The Animation team’s mantra is “we can never have too many references” and visiting a site allows them to get what they need in person, allowing for unparalleled detail and machine operation accuracy, scaling to equipment and environment size.

Mining Skills Australia creates a realistic experience for our clients
The Animation team here at Mining Skills Australia continues to amaze our clients with their talent and creativity.
Check out how realistic this animation is, created by one of our lead and day one animators, Damon Binstead.

Importance of Scaling in Animation
Do you ever wonder how we effortlessly connect to the real world through animation?
Animation enables us to communicate stories in a unique pattern, making humans of any age to understand the idea with ease. Similarly, Mining Skills Australia designs the animations that can be easily connected by an ordinary person.
One important factor in animation is scaling. Our animator’s work with dozens of technical manuals and hundreds of reference images to get the scale of machines right. This means each individual component in each machine is correct, which aids realism in training animations, as well as ensuring complete learner immersion.
Mining Skill Australia adheres to minute details to provide quality services to our clients. Scaling the machine is one such example where we adjust the ratio of the machine’s animation to the actual size of it to provide a real time experience to the users. This in turn means a more accurate scenario when discussing practical situations. Knowledge based immersive learning gives the operator a greater responsibility when understanding the ‘why’ behind each situation, therefore, Mining Skills Australia believes, creates a safer operator and site.
Our aim of quality, proficiency and productivity is achieved with the help of the diligent work done by our animators through their created animations.
At Mining Skills Australia, our reliable team of animators ensures your business requirements are successfully completed by providing an experience of real-world, utilizing their technical expertise.

Improve Efficiency and Accuracy with Augmented Reality
What’s better than watching a real-world environment together with virtual details right in front of you? At @MiningSkillsAustralia we offer you a similar experience with one of the biggest technology trends, @AugmentedReality (AR). Linking the physical world to the digital platform, AR acts a channel between machines and humans. This growing technology allows @Miningskillsaustralia to expand its horizon and offer a hands-on approach towards teaching, allowing a 569-tonne excavator to land in front of you or even on the palm of your hand by simply using your tablet or mobile device.
Being challenging to deploy, the animators of @MiningSkillsAustralia use their knowledge and experienced gained through an innumerable iterative process to create a real time immersive experience for our users, augmenting the understanding through the medium of this technology.
In general, our animators use the assets from Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) to optimise AR. Additionally, the model is combined with virtual touch by applying an invisible mesh and then the models are pre-rigged in the animation. This process is duplicated to provide that real-time Augmented Reality experience, which can mean having you operating a Rigid Haul Truck, when seated at your office desk!
At Mining Skills Australia, our Animation team facilitates your business needs and provides you with exceptional service from creating equipment movement to placing it anywhere you want.
We support you with our AR capabilities to create scenarios for your distinct environment and organisational needs. Contact Mining Skills Australia today to discuss how Augmented Reality can fit within your company or organisation today.
Microcredentials for Macro Productivity
What skills that organisations need today and, in the future, are a moving target.
In this new world of rapid changes – legislation, COVID-19, border closures etc. – organisations need to enable their workers to learn and apply these skills fast.
Microcredentials blend innovative, highly scalable methods of instruction that provide accessible education to a wide range of learners against clearly defined outcomes.
Machine Articulation and Rigging
It takes years of training, hours studying machinery and equipment movement, scrutinizing hundreds of OEM’s and Training Manuals, countless iterative changes and weeks of work to ensure that Mining Skills Animations, correctly represent real life machinery / equipment movement.
One of the processes that our animators use to create correct machine movement representation is through animation techniques called Articulation and Rigging.
In short, Machine Articulation is essentially the points of a machine that bend and move. As for the rigging, it’s the process of taking those articulating points and making it into a controllable puppet for the animators.
Luckily our Animation team at Mining Skills Australia has the talent needed to make it look easy, even if it isn’t.
We welcome you to Mining Skills Australia to discuss your training, simulation, animation, training content creation / presentations or marketing needs for your organisation.
