Last week, the Trade and Investment Queensland’s Mining, Resources and Energy Team (TIQ MRE) invited Mining Skills Australia to attend their annual roundtable meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Dr Alexey Viktorovich Pavlovski. This was attended by our Business Liaison Manager, Gary Bradshaw and our Registered Training Organisational Manager, Emma Hutson.

It was an excellent opportunity to discuss the impacts of COVID-19 and international travel restrictions, including, trade and  business with Russia and Queensland and also the successes achieved by innovative Queensland businesses  in these challenging times.

Valuable insights into the new and current activities in the Russian industrial market and how welcoming and streamline it is creating and operating businesses within the Russian economy, was provided alongside updates by Trade Investment Queensland.

The introduction and benefits of  Go Global Grants and New Market Grants was discussed and how these grants can assist innovative local Queensland businesses to expand globally, and grow in international markets, taking advantage of the increasing opportunities within Russia.

Mining Skills Australia gained excellent information, which we will access to support our business ventures in Russia and would like to personally thank His Excellency Dr Alexey Viktorovich Pavlovski, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation and Trade and Investment Queensland for Mining Skills Australia’s invitation to the roundtable meeting and special thanks to Andrei Golitsynski for hosting the event.

Mining Skills Australia would welcome any opportunity to present at the next event.
