Training Department Reimbursements

Clarifying the reimbursement details for the training department to ensure there are no delays in processing payroll.

You are eligible to claim the following while on training jobs or inductions:

1. Meals at the hotel/motel where you are staying. If the motel does not provide meals, you may claim expenses for food purchased elsewhere, excluding alcohol.
2. Fuel expenses if you have a hire car or if you are using your own vehicle, provided it has been pre-approved by Mining Skills.
3. Ubers and taxis are only claimable for airport-to-motel/hotel return and airport-to-inductions return unless other arrangements are pre-approved by Mining Skills.
4. Any induction you are required to attend (excludes online) to obtain site access that is not conducted on-site, such as Aveling, is payable at a standby rate of $45 per hour.
5. Laundry of work clothing when a laundry is not supplied by site.

Ensure all receipts clearly show the items being claimed, and please write the name of the training job (e.g., EPSA) on the receipt.

When entering into SWAG:

  1. put the training job and item you are claiming, e.g. Food – EPSA Commodore
  2. receipts are to be entered individually, not as a bulk batch of receipts

Please note that you are not eligible to claim the following while on training jobs or inductions:

6. Food expenses at airports on the way to or from training or on flights during travel to and from training jobs.
7. Parking of private vehicles at airports while on training jobs unless other arrangements are pre-approved by Mining Skills.

We previously requested that you submit your timesheets to the payroll email. Kindly ensure that all timesheets are now sent to [email protected] and [email protected]
