AUR Short Course

The AUR short course is core units of competency to select, remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road tyre (OTR) or rim assemblies. It includes how to use an OTR tyre handler.

Course Requirements and Details

Entry Requirements
  • Age: 18+
  • Have sound language and literacy skills
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Currently working in the mining industry with current tyre fitting experience
  • Current regulatory licenses - i.e. high risk work licence to operate forklift.
Units of Competency
  • AURKTJ011 Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road tyres
  • AURKTJ012 Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road wheel and rim assemblies
  • AURKTJ015 Select earthmoving and off-the-road tyres, wheels and rim assemblies for specific applications
  • AURKTJ016 Use earthmoving and off-the-road tyre handlers
Assessment
  • Multiple Choice Questions
  • Short Answer Questions
  • Practical Observation.

  • Access to the internet
  • A mining workplace.

Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available?

Mining Skills Australia has Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy and Procedure to ensure that an individual’s prior learning achieved through formal and informal training, work experience or other life experiences is appropriately recognised. This recognition may assist students to progress faster through a unit of competency or allow the student full credit.
