WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our Emergency Management Department is currently seeking experienced, proactive & adaptable Emergency Service Officers to join our expanding teams across the Central & Southern Queensland regions. Ideal applicants will have exposure to the coal mining industry and experience in emergency response services, with proven operational experience in a Fire & Rescue Service regarded highly. Applicants are required to possess a high level of communication skills along with computer literacy & problem solving abilities, and the capacity to work both autonomously and within a team.
Successful applicants must be based in Queensland, Australia.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
To be eligible for these positions you must hold:
- Standard 11 Induction
- Open Manual MR Licence or above
- Current CPR & First Aid – HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTAID014, HLTAID015
- HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
- UETDRMP007 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel
- National Police Certificate (Issued within last 12 months)
Certificate 3 in Emergency Response & Rescue, including the following units:
- PUAFIR207 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Open Circuit
- PUAFIR210 – Prevent Injury
- PUAFIR316 – Identify, Detect and Monitor Hazardous Materials at an Incident
- PUAFIR324 – Render Hazardous Materials Incidents Safe
- PUASAR022 – Participate in a Rescue Operation
- PUASAR024 – Undertake Road Crash Rescue
- PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue
- PUASAR032 – Undertake Vertical Rescue
- RIIERR201E – Conduct Fire Team Operations
- PUAEQU001 – Prepare, Maintain and Test Response Equipment, OR PMAWHS211 – Prepare Equipment for Emergency Response
At Mining Skills Australia, we may also accept evidence of the above units of competency separate to the Certificate 3 in Emergency Response & Rescue.
